I'm Rowan. I love music because anyone can relate to it I used to only listen to one genre of music, rock. But after listening to other types of music I realized that I like a lot of different types of music. I think people should be more openminded about the music they hear. Music can send a lot of different messages if you really listen. My blog will show you that there's much more out there than what you're listening to. =]

KATY PERRY
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson started out in Santa Barbara as a Christian artist. She was raised by two preachers and wasn't allowed to listen to secular music in her house. After discovering the band "Queen" at a slumber party she realized Christian music wasn't meant for her and she soon moved on to sing songs having nothing to do with religion.
Her debut song was "UR so gay" this song wasn't huge but it put her out there. Her first hit was "I Kissed a Girl" topped the charts in 20 countries. Followed by her album in 2008 "One of the Boys".
"Hot N Cold" was her second number one hit. "Thinking of You" made the Top 40 and "Waking up in Vegas" made the Top 10.
She has proved herself popular so far, we'll see how far she goes.

From Santa Barbara, this band started out playing for college parties on friday nights. After getting huge audiences in their not so huge town they began their album "Courage to Grow".
Their unique Cali-style Reggae made them a huge hit in 2007 and in 2009 they produced "Bright Side of Life" another big hit album.
Their songs are all positive and catchy. Some of their most popular songs are "Green to Black" "Safe and Sound" and "Bright Side of Life".
"Be kind, now keep a smile
Keep your head up
And try to find a friend or a child
And encourage their life
Look on the bright side"
